Mason Richlen

(PT, DPT)

Mason Richlen grew up in Chippewa Falls, WI, and later attended the University of Minnesota, where he earned a B.S. in Kinesiology. During his studies, he gained valuable experience working with high-performers through internships across various sports and age groups. He also spent several years coaching Weightlifting and CrossFit, competing nationally in Weightlifting for six years.

Throughout his athletic career, Mason faced his own struggles with pain and injury, often frustrated by the lack of understanding from healthcare providers. He was frequently told to simply take time off, but no one seemed to appreciate his desire to continue performing at a high level while managing his pain. This experience fueled his determination to become a healthcare provider who not only understood the athlete’s mindset but could offer a more comprehensive, supportive approach.

Driven by this mission, Mason returned to the University of Minnesota to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He is passionate about blending health and performance to create optimal paths for those pursuing a high-performance lifestyle. His approach is rooted in the belief that care should go beyond simply treating injuries and instead focus on maximizing quality of life, longevity, and function.

Dr. Richlen currently resides in St. Paul, MN, with his wife, son Roman, and their Labradoodle, Butters. In his free time, he enjoys training, fishing, learning to golf, and staying at the forefront of research to provide innovative, evidence-based care.
